Though the liner notes differ, Washington, DCs Faraquet were influential in the invention and development of the soon shrugged-off math rock genre. Existing from 1997 to 2001, the band released only one full-length but were an integral, if over-looked, influence on the early 00s post-hardcore scene. They also released a butt-load of singles, and Dischord has done the world a favour by releasing them in one package. Theres busy guitar work in instrumental opener "Parakeet and a calmed down outro for "Review but the real treat is the unreleased "Conversations, which sees singer Devin Ocampo engage in a dialogue with his guitar. Demonstrating the versatility of Faraquet, this compilation cements the importance of these short-lived legends. Good thing they just reunited!
