After years of speaking out against the abuse she experienced in a previous relationship, Evan Rachel Wood has publicly named Marilyn Manson as her alleged abuser. The actress said that the rock star "horrifically abused me for years," adding that he allegedly started grooming her when she was a teenager.

Wood's post reads as follows:

The name of my abuser is Brian Warner, also known to the world as Marilyn Manson. He started grooming me when I was a teenager and horrifically abused me for years. I was brainwashed and manipulated into submission. I am done living in fear of retaliation, slander, or blackmail. I am here to expose this dangerous man and call out the many industries that have enabled him, before he ruins any more lives. I stand with the many victims who will no longer be silent.

UPDATE (2/2, 11:30 a.m. ET): Manson has now released a statement regarding the allegations, and you can read that here

Wood previously told Rolling Stone that she met Manson when she was 18 and he was 36. The couple were briefly engaged in 2010.

In the past, Wood spoke out against experiencing abuse at the hands of a partner, although she didn't name names. While speaking before a House Judiciary Subcommittee in 2018, she said, "My experience with domestic violence was this: Toxic mental, physical and sexual abuse which started slow but escalated over time, including threats against my life, severe gaslighting and brainwashing, waking up to the man that claimed to love me raping what he believed to be my unconscious body."

Four other women have named Marilyn Manson as their abusers with separate statements made to Vanity Fair. "I want to see Brian held accountable for his evil," Sarah McNeilly told the magazine.

Through his lawyer, Marilyn Manson has denied all wrongdoing in the past. He has not yet responded to the latest batch of allegations.
