Linkin Park's comeback has already generated controversy thanks to new singer Emily Armstrong's past support of convicted rapist Danny Masterson. Now, she has responded to those accusations.

In an Instagram story shared yesterday (September 6), Armstrong acknowledged that she "was asked to support someone I considered a friend at a court appearance," and that she had gone as an observer. She said that she "misjudged him," and, after "unimaginable details emerged," she has "never spoken with him since."

Her post doesn't mention Masterson by name, nor does it offer any of the "unimaginable details" in question — but Armstrong does address the issue at least somewhat directly by saying that she does "not condone abuse or violence against women, and I empathize with the victims of these crimes."

She has unfollowed Masterson on Instagram. She hasn't acknowledged her apparent ties to the Church of Scientology.
