Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis were among a group of more than 50 people who wrote letters in support of Danny Masterson prior to the actor's sentencing in his rape trial, and their respective submissions defending their That '70s Show co-star have now surfaced.
Kunis and Kutcher's letters, which were sent to Judge Charlaine Olmedo on Masterson's behalf before his sentencing to 30 years in prison yesterday (September 7), were obtained and published by veteran American journalist Tony Ortega, who has covered Scientology via his independent website, the Underground Bunker.
In his letter, Kutcher calls Masterson an "extraordinarily honest and intentional human being," and writes of how he has "always treated people with decency, equality, and generosity." Acknowledging that "the judgement has been cast as guilty on two counts of rape by force and the victims have a great desire for justice," Kutcher concludes, "I do not believe he is an ongoing harm to society and having his daughter raised without a present father would [be] a tertiary injustice in and of itself."
In her respective letter, Kunis writes of Masterson's "remarkable influence" on her life as "an amazing friend, confidant, and, above all, an outstanding older brother figure," vouching "wholeheartedly" for his "exceptional character and the tremendous positive influence he has had on me and the people around him."

Ortega wrote in publishing the letters, "It's perhaps important to keep in mind, these letter writers were probably aware that Judge Olmedo could really only choose between 15 to life and 30 to life. They knew they were not trying to convince her to let Danny walk out of prison."
Ortega also discussed the letters with reporter Meghann Cuniff, who notably published Iggy Azalea's letter of recommendation in support of Tory Lanez as part of her coverage of the Canadian rapper's sentencing for shooting Megan Thee Stallion. You can hear their conversation in the player below.
