Montreal based singer-songwriter Eli Rose has just shared a brand new record — marking her debut with Universal Music Canada and the first-ever Francophone artist signed to new Canadian imprint Maison Barclay Canada. Today, we have that release, her 10-track urban pop self-titled album, which you can hear below.

Rose's record comes as the inaugural release from Universal Music Canada's new label imprint, Maison Barclay Canada. In collaboration with the storied French label Barclay — which was originally founded in the '50s — Maison Barclay Canada aims to feature emerging Francophone, Canadian and French artists.

Rose began writing love songs a few years ago — translating them into energetic pop anthems inspired by the Montreal music scene.

"I started writing the album after attending SOCAN's Kenekt Song Camp in 2016 where I had the opportunity to meet talented producers," says Rose. "This experience propelled me to write candid, intimate pop music on my favourite subject, love. I wrote this record as if I was writing a love letter. It's an emotional personal album ripe with vulnerability that is so unique yet so universal."

Collaborators on her new record include Banx & Ranx and Francophone rapper FouKi. Rose — who has been experimenting with her sound for the last 10 years — has had the pleasure of collaborating with industry heavyweights such as Ruffsound (Koriass, Loud, Zaho), DRMS (Ariane Moffat, Fanny Bloom), Realmind (Loud, Allie X), Banx & Ranx (Sean Paul, Ella Eyre), June Nawakii (Nicki Minaj), Billboard (Britney Spears, Shakira) and Mike Clay (Robotaki, Clay and Friends) and more.

Rose produced a single back in 2017 titled "Soleil," which launched her into the BDS Top 10, marking her as an emerging artist of considerable talent. For her self-titled record, Rose promises to live it up and, above all, to remain as unique as ever.
