The Eagles

Farewell I Tour: Live from Melbourne

BY David McPhersonPublished Jul 1, 2005

This two-DVD set shot in Hi-Definition captures the Eagles' sold-out show in November 2004 in Melbourne, Australia. A few of the highlights include the horn solo that leads into "Hotel California," Joe Walsh's guitar clinic on "Rocky Mountain Way" and "Life's Been Good." Bonus features include some "behind the scenes" footage and some insightful band interviews. While some sceptics may argue that these musical birds are long past their prime — yet one more example of a has-been rock band reuniting for the baby boomer set — this DVD concert shows that when it comes to the Eagles that's not the case. Thirty-five years later, these country rockers still have their chops. (Warner)
