Drake is making History. He's teamed up with Live Nation to launch a venue called History that will open in Toronto later this year.

The venue will have a capacity of 2,500 and will host around 200 shows and events per year. It's in the Beaches neighbourhood in Toronto's east end at 1663 Queen Street East. By Drake's arena-sized standards, this is a "smaller room."

He said in a statement, "Some of my most memorable shows were playing smaller rooms like History. I wanted to take those memories and what I learned to create an incredible experience for both the artists and the fans."

History has been in the works for more than three years. Construction is scheduled to wrap up later this summer. An announcement states, "History includes a convertible general admission area and reserved seating configurations for all types of events — from concerts, live entertainment and galas to community programs and events."

A mockup of the venue's inside is below.
