Celebrating their debut live DVD in style, Bay Area thrash metal heroes Death Angel unleash an all-encompassing affair with Sonic German Beatdown. Divided into two sets, featuring a festival gig, circa 2007, and club show in 2008, Death Angel cover every base with 32 tracks spanning their career and two bonus videos for "Thicker Than Blood" and "Dethroned," respectively. The first 15-track gig at the Rock Hard Festival in 2007 is a fine performance, shot with multiple cameras and featuring a bold set with great sound. Still, the show at Adelsheim's Live Factory is the stronger of the two, having more fan favourites and relayed in an intimate setting. Sonic German Beatdown covers every aspect/era of the band's catalogue, from The Ultra-Violence through to The Art Of Dying; it is everything and more one could want from the band at their tightest.
