D'Angelo

Live In Sweden

Noted soul hermit D'Angelo kicked off a European tour in Stockholm, Sweden last night (January 26), and judging by the footage, the reclusive R&B star is back with a vengeance.

As you can see in the three fan-shot vids below, the singer, playing his first live gig in well over a decade, is full of pep, belting out songs old and new. Check the fan-friendly "Chicken Grease," off 2000's acclaimed Voodoo, where the vocalist leads the crowd through a playful back and forth.

New tunes "Sugar Daddy" and "Charade" could very well pop up on that Mark Ronson-assisted LP we're still waiting on. The latter has D'Angelo rockin' a guitar, while the slightly jazzy nu-soul cut itself is imbued with rapturous church organ and sweeping, Prince-style multi-part harmonies.

"Sugar Daddy" plays a little sexier, with the fun and funky number inspiring D'Angelo to shuffle in those low-slung sweatpants. Check it all out below.
