For the past month and a half I've been locked up in the studio with producer extraordinaire Andrew "Fresh Kils" Kilgour (Shania Twain, ACDC, Jon Secada) recording the follow up to my Multi-Platinum, Latin Grammy Award-Winning debut LP, Let The Children Die. Though we are near completion, we are still a few months away from the release of Vaudeville.
Not being prolific is something I've been guilty of. I ve been attacked in the press, and insulted by fans for leaving them dry without new material. It s been days since my name has appeared on a blog, and for that, some devoted listeners have deemed me dead. It s been weeks since I ve released new music, and for that I apologize. I m not a machine. I m merely a man. Flesh and bones. A robot, I am not.
Which is why I've decided to give you a taste. A lick of the spoon. A nibble of the cake. A swig of the sauce. A swallow of Vaudeville.
I selected the song that best represents where I m going, yet never abandoning where I ve been. Underground Hip-Hop, but with a twist. A journalist for Black Hair Magazine once labeled me The Bret Michaels of Rap. Now I m ready to proudly wear that crown. Or Cowboy Hat. A spiky brimmed, solid gold cowboy hat covered with jewels. Sitting atop a gold dipped bandana covered with emeralds that cannot be ruined by sweat.
Ladies & Gentlemen, I proudly present to you...
Every Rose Has Its Thorn.
