Corey Taylor Teases 'CMFT' B-Sides, Sequel Albums

The vocalist says his second solo LP will arrive "obviously after Slipknot has kind of done its thing"

Corey Taylor began February by sharing that Slipknot's new album is finished, and while that effort is among the "big shit" planned for 2022, the vocalist has now revealed that more of his own solo material is on the way.

Speaking with Eddie Trunk on SiriusXM [via Blabbermouth], Taylor shared that to follow his 2020 solo debut CMFT, a new collection of covers and acoustic recordings would arrive later this month.

"CMFT is putting out a B-sides album which has all the covers that we've done and some acoustic versions of some of the songs that are on," Taylor revealed, noting the collection would arrive digitally on February 25.

"The first single will actually be February 11, and people will be able to download that," he added. "It's our cover of 'On the Dark Side' by John Cafferty & the Beaver Brown Band, which is one of the best rock tunes ever."

Taylor noted that the song is "one of our favourites to play live," and you can watch a January 2022 performance of that cover below.

Taylor also shared that a CMFT sequel "is written, it's demoed, it's ready to go. Plus we're constantly writing new stuff. So we're gonna be in a great position, next year probably, to go in and record CMFT 2 and just be ready to kind of do that. But that's obviously after Slipknot has kind of done its thing."

Slipknot's last album was 2019's We Are Not Your Kind, and the band have yet to detail their follow-up LP. This spring, the band will bring their "Knotfest Roadshow" tour to North America, with nine Canadian shows included on the itinerary.
