Back at the beginning of January, Corey Taylor promised that some "Big Shit" was coming in 2022, including a new Slipknot album.

And now, in a new interview with Eddie Trunk of SiriusXM's Trunk Nation, Taylor has revealed that Slipknot's new album is essentially finished, artwork and title included, and will likely arrive sometime in May of this year.

"The record is actually in the process of being mixed right now. Everything is finished, so it's just being mixed right now, which is rad news," Taylor told Trunk. "I think it's probably going to be another three months. The artwork's done. We just came up with the title. I'm not gonna tell you it right now. But we're really stoked. So hopefully three months from now — well, less than that — we'll get the single out, and then three months from now we'll get the album out."

Back in November of last year, it was revealed that Slipknot recorded their forthcoming album with producer Joe Barresi. Shawn "Clown" Crahan told Knotfest.com how they tried to "exploit 'the Slipknot gene'" on the new record, saying, "It's way beyond Slipknot, it's more like god music."

Slipknot's last album was 2019's We Are Not Your Kind
