The East Coast Music Awards Show has announced the lineup for its 2021 event, and as could be expected, some incredible Canadian talent will perform.
UPDATE (4/28, 12:26 p.m. ET): Due to concerns about rising COVID-19 numbers in Nova Scotia, the 2021 ECMAs have been delayed and will now take place entirely virtually. The entire event runs June 9 to 13; the East Coast Music Awards Show is on June 10, while the Music & Industry Awards will follow on June 13. The conference, Our Music Means Business, runs June 9 to 13.
ECMA CEO Andy McLean said in a statement, "We want to thank each and every artist and industry professional, as well as our staff, contractors, and partners, who continue to adapt to each change with positivity and perseverance. We look forward to celebrating the accomplishments of our world-class regional talent and honouring the winners of the 2021 East Coast Music & Industry Awards in June."

With performances by Classified, Rich Aucoin and Rose Cousins, the physically distanced event will take place at Centre 200 in Sydney, NS, on May 6. The in-person show will also features the likes of Beòlach, Catherine MacLellan, Hauler, Keonté Beals, Les Hay Babies, Like a Motorcycle, Rube & Rake, Silver Wolf Band, Sorrey, Zamani and Wolf Castle.
In addition to the evening's musical talent, the ECMA Show will be hosted by comedians Justine Williamson and Jay Malone.
"Our host community is very excited to have us back in Sydney for the 33rd ECMAs, where live music is recognized to be a vital part of the community," CEO Andy McLean said in a statement.
"We continue to work closely with government departments and industry stakeholders to deliver an event that celebrates the importance of live music, while ensuring the safety of all involved."
Tickets for the EMCA Show are on sale now via Ticketmaster. Centre 200 has also graciously published the venue's COVID-19 safety plan for those who wish to attend the event in person.
On May 9, a virtual ceremony for the Music & Industry Awards — honouring musicians, as well as those who work diligently behind the scenes — is scheduled to take place. EMCA organizers will follow up with more details about that event in the weeks to come, so stay tuned.
