It's inspired by her dog Joanie

Clairo has announced her second album. Sling will be out on July 16 through FADER Label/Polydor/Republic, and the lead single "Blouse" is out now.

The album was co-produced by Jack Antonoff, and "Blouse" features backing vocals from Lorde. That some group of collaborators worked on Lorde's new single "Solar Power," which was also produced by Antonoff and features backing vocals by Clairo.

Of the album, Clairo wrote in an Instagram post, "Joanie, my dog, opened up my world in ways I didn't think were capable. By caring for her, it forced me to face my own thoughts about parenthood and what it would mean to me. stories as lessons, regrets as remorse.. thinking about something/someone before yourself. It's a glimpse into a world where I found that domesticity is what I was missing."

Sling is the follow-up to 2019's Immunity.
