City and Colour Remembers BP Oil Spill with New Charity Track

Though the BP oil well in the Gulf of Mexico was plugged for good last Sunday (September 19), City and Colour singer Dallas Green is hoping a new song of his ensures we don't push the massive spill out of our minds just yet.

CBC reports that the musician recently recorded "At the Bird's Foot," which eulogizes the 11 oil workers killed when the well burst, for an upcoming compilation album whose proceeds will be donated to people affected by the spill.

""I remember the first image I saw was the ocean on fire when they were trying to do the controlled burns - burning oil in the middle of the ocean. It's one of the strongest things I've ever seen," Green told CBC Radio Q host Jian Ghomeshi.

Though the compilation is as of yet unnamed, Green expects it to be released in October.
