'Tis the season to get all reflective and weird about the year we've had, and even Chrissie Hynde is not immune to the nostalgia. In the year-end list fashion we'll never escape (thanks Obama), the Pretenders leader has revealed some of her "personal highlights" of 2024 — including seeing one of Taylor Swift's Eras Tour concerts a London's Wembley Stadium.
Taking to social media today, Hynde remarked on how she always looks forward to "a new beginning," and thanked the Pretenders fans — even those front-row repeat offenders — who came to see the band on tour before counting down some of her favourite artistic experiences (and more) of the last year.
Topping the list was her citation of Swift's performance as her favourite live show of 2024. "Beautiful and inspiring. Timeless music," Hynde wrote, adding clarification that the pop star is "the girl with the guitar."
The Pretenders bandleader also enjoyed seeing Ukrainian rock band Okean Elzy at the Forum, and Conclave in cinemas "three times already." Hynde also listed the 2014 James Brown documentary Mr. Dynamite and the BBC Two TV series Wolf Hall among her favourites. See the full list below.
