While the original British version of The Office ended way back in 2003, Ricky Gervais has brought back his David Brent character in recent years. Having recorded some instructional guitar videos, he's currently in the process of making a music mockumentary about the character in a movie called Life on the Road. Now, this story about the fictional musician has got some input from a very real rock star: Chris Martin of Coldplay.
Gervais tweeted about Martin's involvement on Saturday (October 17). He posted a photo of the two of them and shared the following message:
Life on the Road has been discussed for a couple of years now. It follows Brent as he travels the free-love freeways on an unsuccessful UK tour with his band Forgone Conclusion. It's being directed by Gervais himself and is been funded by BBC Films and Entertainment One. Gervais wrote new songs for the film.

It's not entirely clear if Martin will appear in the movie, or if he will simply be on the previously discussed soundtrack for Juxtaposition Records. In any case, it's a good fit for the Coldplay singer, given that he has embraced his funny side as of late with a comedic Game of Thrones musical and a tongue-in-cheek send-off for a radio DJ.Life on the Road has been discussed for a couple of years now.
