The Canadian Folk Music Awards (CFMAs) have just unveiled the nominations for their 17th edition, set to take place next year from April 1 to 3 in Charlottetown, PEI.
Some of the artists up for awards this year are Allison Russell, William Prince, Whitehorse, Craig Cardiff, Noah Reid, Dana Sipos, OKAN, Elliott BROOD, the Fugitives, Rick Fines, Rob Lutes, Laura Niquay, Loryn Taggart, BEYRIES, David Leask, Rosier and many, many more — for a total of 105 nominees.
In addition to the 2022 nominations, the CFMAs have introduced some changes for its upcoming edition: the World Album of the Year Award will now be called the Global Roots Album of the Year Award, and all albums are now eligible to be submitted in more than one songwriting category.
