Back in 2018, Buddy began rolling out his 2018 debut Harlan & Alondra with urgent single "Black," and the California artist has now shared its sequel.
On "Black 2," Buddy takes issue with society's appropriation of Black culture, while at the same time remaining largely silent when it comes to the systemic racism that continues to permeate daily life. As he hammers home in the hook, "Everybody wanna be Black / Don't nobody wanna be a n***a."
Earlier this year, Buddy teamed with Kent Jamz to release Janktape Vol. 1. In 2019, he shared solo single "Hollyhood," and appeared on albums from from Robert Glasper and J. Cole's Dreamville Records.
