"I decided to go the extra mile on this one. I devoted entire days to parts of songs that last 10 seconds. I went super-micro on the details."

Nova Scotia-hailing MC Buck 65 remains prolific as ever with the release of his second new album of 2023.

Punk Rock B-Boy is out today, following the spring release of Super Dope and last year's King of Drums. The track "Morgana" features additional scratches from Skratch Bastid.

Amid documenting some recent health struggles, the musician and producer born Richard Terfry has been lightly teasing the record in his Substack newsletter Vertices, but only provided details like its title as recently as this week.

"It's called Punk Rock B-Boy," he wrote on Tuesday (October 31). "It's about 40 minutes long. As I explained a while back, it's made up of a combination of material left over from Super Dope and new stuff — about 50/50, I guess. It's very much in the same spirit/vein of King of Drums and Super Dope but with some subtle differences."

"It occurred to me recently that most of my all-time favourite albums have something in common: they all sound like they were laboured over," the rapper explained. "So I decided to go the extra mile on this one. I devoted entire days to parts of songs that last 10 seconds. I went super-micro on the details. It's a hard kind of work but it's the most satisfying."
