Broken Bells are back! The duo of the Shins' James Mercer and Brian Burton (a.k.a Danger Mouse) have shared new single "We're Not in Orbit Yet..." ahead of their forthcoming third album.

Into the Blue is still awaiting an exact release date (as well as a tracklist and cover art), but apparently it's coming soon via AWAL. It's the long-awaited follow-up to the pair's 2014 sophomore effort After the Disco.

They previously teased comebacks in both 2018 and 2019, with respective one-off singles "Shelter" and "Good Luck." But we can rest at least semi-assured that the album's really on its way this time — it has a title now, right?

The mid-tempo new single's dense layers have a foreboding undertone as Broken Bells return to their signature astral-projecting, apocalyptic opulence.
