Blood Red Throne

Come Death

BY Jill MikkelsonPublished Nov 19, 2007

For their fourth full-length, Tchort and company have welcomed the addition of two new members, drummer Anders Haave and vocalist Vald, adding fresh blood to the already efficient circulatory system. While Vald has a more diverse range and Anders tends to play more fluently, BRT’s modern take on Suffocation remains generally unscathed. Their husky death riffing thrashes into attention-grabbing meaty grooves, combining technicality with palpable, and generally appealing, savagery. Their cover of Gorgut’s "Disincarnated” is a fitting tribute to a band that have obviously influenced them, as well as the majority of their contemporaries. This is a completely solid release any fan of death metal should check out.
