blink-182 are resuming the European leg of their world tour tomorrow (September 8) after Travis Barker had to return to the US for wife Kourtney Kardashian's successful emergency fetal surgery, but they have yet to bless the tender punks among us with further details about their new album, which Tom DeLonge thinks is probably the best one they've ever made.
It's been just shy of a year since the reunited trio released "EDGING" — their first new song in 10 years with DeLonge back in the fold. They've been doing a ton of touring since, providing ample opportunities for the stepsons of submarine billionaires to "shake dicks" at their concerts (as Cardi B so eloquently put it). Otherwise, they've left fans in the dark about the record, which they reportedly finished recording back in May.
Posters potentially teasing new music from the band have now popped up in Toronto, featuring the blink logo and the text, "ONE MORE TIME ..." as well as the following lyrics in the background:
Do I have to die to hear you miss me?
Do I have to die to hear you say goodbye?
I don't want to act like there's tomorrow
I don't want to wait to do this one more time
UPDATE (9/7, 12:51 p.m. ET): The band have taken their teasing another step further, posting a clip previewing new music on Instagram.
According to Reddit user u/am_dog, they spotted the advertising in the window of a mom-and-pop convenience store in the Long Branch area.
Fans have also spotted the same posters in Santiago, Chile, which you can see below. If you scan the QR code, a revamped version of the blink-182 website comes up with a note that reads, "Site closed for maintenance." When you click "Okay," you're taken to a colourful bathroom stall page where some lucky person in a yellow hazmat suit and gas mask is scrubbing the wall while seemingly listening to the new song in their headphones.
Although absolutely nothing has been confirmed, another Reddit user, u/blink182superfan (hmm, I wonder if they like the band?), has claimed that a reliable contact at KROQ-FM said blink will premiere "One More Time — a new song — on the radio station at 10 p.m. PT next Friday (September 15). Let the speculation continue!
