Black Crowes

Southern rockers the Black Crowes capture their 2005 reunion tour on this 150-minute DVD. The band play 19 numbers from their gig at San Francisco’s historic Fillmore, including some of their hits ("Jealous Again,” "Hard To Handle”) but not all of them ("Thorn In My Pride”). This is a mellower Crowes who can still put on a decent show but don’t rock as hard. Maybe it’s the audio mix but their crunching guitars are missing. The video footage is straight and simple, and could have used some embellishments. Instead, the short bonus film of backstage footage and acoustic warm-ups outshines the actual concert. (Eagle Rock)
