"Color Yr Lights In" (video)

An at times uncomfortable portrait of one man's struggle is presented in stunning yet subtle new video for shoegazing Can-rock combo the Besnard Lakes' Until in Excess, Imperceptible UFO track "Color Yr Lights In."

Directed by the Sanchez Brothers, the clip stars Martin Dubreuil as the man in question, who kicks his day off with a smoke in bed. After the first drag, though, things get complicated, as he begins to violently slap himself. His day bounces between moments of despair and joy as he chokes on a meal, attempts to enjoy a beer at bar, takes solace in the arms of a sex worker and finally finds clarity during an illegal skinny dip.

Described by the directors in a statement as "A night in the life of a man who struggles to maintain his grip on reality," it's a complicated look at the fragility of mental health. You can catch the video down below.

As previously reported, Besnard Lakes kick off a fall North American tour next week. You can see the show info over here.
