Mortals get horny. Lucifer is a sex dictator. So say Austria’s Belphegor, who merge fetish with blackened death metal on Bondage Goat Zombie, a nine-track tribute to getting off (in hell). While Satan takes it slow, the band prefer a quicker pace, coupling eerie tremolo with your usual tap-dancing snare drum. There’s a bit of baroque and a bit of pornography too, though the instruments rarely change positions. In time, sadism becomes real, as when listeners find themselves suffering from a terminal impatience. Sick! But nothing tops the bonus DVD, which includes a homemade music video so startling it was banned without ever being seen. Go "behind the scenes” to see their black magic revealed, as well as some other disturbing details (laughter, friendship). Finish with the "Maniakks” section for poetry from an old drummer and a montage of howling fans whose lives were destroyed by Belphegor. One of them even offers his asshole, surely inspired by the band’s progressive sexual attitude.
