Beady Eye Heading to Toronto on North American Tour

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Mar 7, 2011

It's too early to tell at this point whether Beady Eye's recently released debut, Different Gear, Still Speeding, will hold up to Oasis's first disc, Definitely Maybe, but Liam Gallagher, the vocalist from both bands, certainly thinks so. A couple of weeks back, the singer insisted that the "playing's fookin' better" on the Beady Eye record than his former band's first go at things. While Britrock fans on this side of the pond have surely given the group's full-length a try, Gallagher and co. are set to prove their songs have legs on the stage, as they've announced a few of North American tour dates.

Though they're scheduled to hit this continent this June, Beady Eye won't be doing much travelling once they're here -- they have only scheduled three gigs. Luckily for Canadian fans, they will be dropping by Toronto's Sound Academy on June 20.

It's unclear as to why the jaunt is so short, but hopefully the band book some more concerts in the near future.

Thanks to Spin for the tip.
