After taking some time off to recuperate, Ariana Grande is back in a big way with a new song called "thank u, next."
In it, she addresses plenty of her past high-profile romances, including her relationships with Big Sean, dancer Ricky Alvarez, Mac Miller and Pete Davidson.
It opens with the lyrics:
Thought I'd end up with Sean
But he wasn't a match
Wrote some songs about Ricky
Now I listen and laugh
Even almost got married
And for Pete I'm so thankful
Wish I could say thank you to Malcolm
Cause he was an angel
The song eventually changes its tune, though, with Grande declaring her relationship with herself to be the new most important love in her life.
The hook, meanwhile, hears her sing, "I'm so fucking grateful for my ex," before the titular phrase gets repeated.
She described the song on Twitter as the beginning of a "new chapter" and a celebration of gratitude and growth.
The track comes just months after the arrival of her latest studio album Sweetener, but the singer has been hinting via Twitter that a full new album isn't far away.
Her "Sweetener World Tour" doesn't even kick off until early next year.
As we await full details for Grande's next album, though, listen to "thank u, next" below.
