Long-running St. Catharines rockers Alexisonfire have resumed touring over the last few years, but they haven't released any new music since 2009's Old Crows/Young Cardinals — until now.

After teasing fans earlier this month, the band have unveiled a brand new track called "Familiar Drugs." It's available for pre-order as a limited-edition single-side 7-inch with a laser-etched B-side. Special glow-in-the-dark variants will also be randomly inserted throughout the black vinyl pressings.

In a statement, Alexisonfire's George Pettit had this to say about the new track:

"Familiar Drugs" is about recognizing you need to make a change in your life, being presented with the opportunity to make that change, and then choosing to do the same thing you always do. It's about something very specific to me but it can be taken literally or interpreted in any number of ways. Most people have something in their lives they can't quit, substances, unhealthy relationships, lethargy, self righteousness, a job they hate. "Familiar Drugs" is about choosing comfort over self betterment.

In addition to the new song, Alexisonfire have also announced another round of limited live shows.

They'll play London, New York, Los Angeles and Toronto this spring.

UPDATE (2/21, 9 a.m. EST): Alexisonfire have added two additional dates. They'll play second shows in both New York and Toronto, on June 7 and June 16, respectively.
