Over a year after first hearing whisperings about Alexisonfire's vinyl box set, the gone but not forgotten screamo crew are now ready to deliver the discography-scouring release.
A press release confirms that the hefty item is being pressed up in a limited-edition run of 1,000 copies, which go for sale on the band's website on Christmas morning (December 25).
Included in the box will be all four of the group's full-lengths, remastered for double-LP pressings cut to be played at 45 rpm. While this had been the case with the long-out-of-print 2009 swan song Old Crows/Young Cardinals, this will be the first time 2002's Alexisonfire, 2004's Watch Out! and 2006's Crisis will presented as double LPs.
Single 12-inches included in the package are the band's Switcheroo split release with Moneen, with additional artwork, as well as the first-ever vinyl pressing of AOF's Death Letter and a new pressing of Dog's Blood. A 10-inch of their Math Sheets demo will also be included, as well as three previously released tour exclusive 7-inches and a Death Letter 7-inch featuring two to-be-detailed tracks.
Aside from the vinyl, the box will also include a 28-page photo book featuring shots taken by photographer Dustin Rabin during Alexisonfire's 2012 farewell tour, a vinyl slipmat and 45 adaptor, and a digital download code for those of you who have no god damn clue how to play all these records.
As noted up above, the box doesn't go up for sale until Christmas, but the band are letting you know ahead of time that it costs $250.
"This box set is every record nerd's dream," guitarist Wade MacNeil said in a statement.
Leading up to the box set's release, Alexisonfire will be uploading a series of videos highlighting memories from their lengthy career. MacNeil will apparently be tweeting some nostalgic thoughts as well.
