Daniel Romano continued his incredibly prolific 2020 last week with the release of White Flag, and as far as future projects go, a new album with Alexisonfire's Wade MacNeil is among them.
Today, MacNeil shared on Instagram that he had recently wrapped a week-long recording session with both Daniel and Ian Romano, as well as Patrick Bennett of Mountain Dust.
"Ten new songs in seven days. Amazing week being back at home in Niagara and making music with some friends" MacNeil wrote. "Endless love and thanks to Pat, Dan & Ian for helping me make these ideas come to life."
Over the entire week of recording, MacNeil had been teasing the sessions for Instagram followers, writing that he is "making a cosy record for punks that are now hippies who still love Discharge but also now understand that the Grateful Dead are the world's best band."
You can cycle through MacNeil's teasers below, the second of which features a strategically-placed issue of Exclaim!, bearing our cover story on Romano's recent run of releases. It remains to be see which of the "Five Faces of Daniel Romano" will appear on the album.
MacNeil recently released his soundtrack for Random Acts of Violence and launched an Indigenous music bursary with his Alexisonfire bandmates. His 2020 has also included a score for pro wrestling docuseries Dark Side of the Ring.
