Back in 2022, Alex G graced the cover of Exclaim!'s year-end issue for his 10th album, God Save the Animals, which we named one of the year's best. He's currently gearing up to tour with Foo Fighters this summer — but in the interim, he seems to have found himself in the studio with alt-pop star Halsey.
Last night (March 25), the artist born Ashley Frangipane posted an inconspicuous-looking carousel of images and short video clips on Instagram. The fifth slide, however, features the familiarly shaggy back of Giannascoli's head behind the boards in the studio as a snippet of a new Halsey song plays. Frangipane can be heard calling him "Engineer Alex."
Halsey's last album was 2021's If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power, which saw them team up with Trent Reznor (and comparatively speaking, that might win out as the weirder pairing!) Since then, the singer-songwriter has kept extremely busy with makeup brand about-face, motherhood, and recovering from multiple endometriosis-related surgeries.
