In August of last year, Aerosmith announced the cancellation of their oft-delayed farewell tour — and their retirement due to Steven Tyler's persisting vocal issues. For all intents and purposes, it seemed as though the band was over, but now it seems like they may not be entirely done: as Billboard reports, Aerosmith are slated to reunite and perform at Tyler's "Jam for Janie" benefit concert.

The band is among the lineup of performers — which also includes upcoming tour buddies Billy Idol and Joan Jett, as well as Linda Perry, Matt Sorum and Nuno Bettencourt — at the annual Grammys weekend event taking place on February 2 at the Hollywood Palladium in support of the frontman's Janie's Fund nonprofit, which benefits women and girls who have survived abuse.

This year, the foundation is expanding its philanthropic reach to support the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation and the Widows, Orphans, and Disabled Firefighter's Fund, welcoming over 100 firefighters from the frontlines of the L.A. wildfires to the show.

"What the Los Angeles community has endured with these wildfires is unthinkable," Tyler said in a statement. "Music has healing powers and we hope to bring a moment of joy and levity to our first-responder firefighters and those most affected by the fires. The trauma experienced by the girls we work with is also unthinkable and we will continue to shed light and support the amazing work of Janie's Fund."

The singer is currently facing a (albeit reduced) lawsuit alleging him of sexually assaulting a minor in the '70s, while a second sexual assault case was dismissed last February. Meanwhile, Aerosmith bassist Tom Hamilton's new band Close Enemies recently released their debut single.
