Aerosmith have postponed a series of dates on their final North American tour — including their September 12 performance in Toronto — due to issues surrounding Steven Tyler's vocal health.
UPDATE (09/29, 10:47 a.m.): Aerosmith have announced that Tyler fractured his larynx and postponed all shows, including Montreal, to "some time in 2024."
"I'm heartbroken to say I have received strict doctor's orders not to sing for the next thirty days," Tyler wrote in a message shared via the band's social media accounts. "I sustained vocal cord damage during Saturday's show that led to subsequent bleeding. We'll need to postpone a few dates so that we can come back and give you the performance you deserve."
Tyler and Aerosmith performed in Elmont, NY, on Saturday (September 9) prior to the show they had scheduled at Toronto's Scotiabank Arena for tomorrow evening. That performance — in addition to US dates in Detroit, Chicago, Washington, Raleigh and Cleveland — has now been moved to 2024.
Aerosmith's only other Canadian performance on their final North American tour will come in Montreal on January 26 of next year.
The band's message notes that all previously purchased tickets will be honoured at the rescheduled dates, while refunds will be available for those unable to attend.
