What We Do in the Shadows is in the midst of a pretty great second season, so it's good news indeed that the vampire comedy has been renewed for Season 3 by FX.
The network made the announcement today, confirming Nandor (Kayvan Novak), Nadja (Natasia Demetriou), Laszlo (Matt Berry), Colin Robinson (Mark Proksch) and Guillermo (Harvey Guillén) will all be back for another season.
"We're incredibly happy that critics and audiences are all in on Shadows," said Nick Grad, president of original programming for FX Entertainment, in a statement. "Week in and week out, the producers, writers and our amazing cast continue to make one of the funniest and best comedy series on TV."
The show is a spinoff of Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement's 2014 movie What We Do in the Shadows, and as the series has repeatedly proved, there is a lot of room to take the story far and beyond that of the original film.
It's also proved to be quite the hit for FX. According to the network, What We Do in the Shadows Season 2 is averaging 3.2 million viewers per episode across all platforms, up 25 percent over Season 1. Season 2 is also sitting at well above 90% on Rotten Tomatoes, both with audience and critics scores.
So far, there is no firm premiere date for the third season, but the Season 2 finale will air on June 10.
