Watch Timothée Chalamet as a Drug-dealing Dweeb in 'Hot Summer Nights' Trailer

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Apr 12, 2018

Timothée Chalamet won over fans and critics alike in last year's Call Me By Your Name and Lady Bird, and now the young star has taken on another role in an edgy coming-of-age story.

He's the star of Hot Summer Nights, the directorial debut by Elijah Bynum, and the first trailer has just been unveiled.

The film tells the story of a dorky young guy who gets sent to stay with his aunt in Cape Cod for the summer, only to fall into dealing drugs with the local bad boy.

"Sending me away for the summer? What a cliché," Chalamet's character says in the trailer, apparently forgetting that going away for the summer earned him an Oscar nod last year.

See him fall into a life of crime and teenage romance in the trailer for Hot Summer Nights below. The film hits theatres on July 27.
