Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson have been released from hospital in Australia, where they tested positive and were treated for the novel coronavirus COVID-19.
According to a representative for Hanks, they are now in self-quarantine at their home in Queensland, as per the country's protocol.
Hanks was originally in Australia for filming on Baz Luhrmann's upcoming Elvis Presley biopic, in which Hanks plays Presley's manager. Production on the film has been halted.
After announcing on social media that he and his wife had contracted the coronavirus, Hanks has provided a few updates from the hospital.
He said that they were "taking it one-day-at-a-time" and "following the advice of experts." He also reminded followers that "there's no crying in baseball."
Hanks shared a photo of an alarming amount of vegemite on toast, along with a stuffed kangaroo and tiny plush koala bear, and thanked the "Helpers" for handling the situation.
