The upcoming Metal Gear Solid film adaptation just got some major star power, as Oscar Isaac has just been cast as Solid Snake — or Big Boss, if you prefer.

The Sony film is being directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts (Kong: Skull Island) and it's based on the hugely popular Konami video game created by gaming visionary Hideo Kojima. While the film is still in its early stages, Deadline confirmed today that Isaac will be taking the lead role of Snake.

Of course, the casting decision may disappoint some Metal Gear fans who were hoping that either voice actors Kiefer Sutherland or predecessor David Hayter.would be returning as Snake.

At this point, it's unclear when we might get the Metal Gear Solid movie, but with Isaac onboard, we're sure we'll hear more about the project soon.

At this point, it's also unclear if any tsuchinoko will make a cameo.
