After raking in $700 million at the worldwide box office, Andrés Muschietti's IT was bound to receive a sequel. Now, it's been revealed that the follow-up film will begin shooting sooner than we think.

Indiewire reports that the sequel will begin shooting in Toronto this July. "The script is still being finalized and the locations are currently being scouted in anticipation of shooting then," producer Roy Lee confirmed to the site in an email.

The site notes that Muschietti will return as director, while one of the original screenplay's three writers, Gary Dauberman, is working on the script.

The sequel to IT is slated to arrive in theatres September 6, 2019.
