The Coen Brothers Are Working on a Western TV Show

Joel and Ethan Coen may not be interested in the television adaptation of their classic film Fargo, but that doesn't mean the directorial duo don't have TV ideas of their own.

The Coen Brothers will jump to the small screen for a television series called The Ballad of Buster Scruggs. The limited series is being produced through the Coens' own Mike Zoss Productions, and according to Variety, they've partnered with Annapurna Pictures' television unit to take "an innovative approach" that could see both television and theatrical release. No release date has been announced yet.

The Coens wrote the script from an original idea and are also on board to direct the project. Channelling past work like True Grit and No Country for Old Men, the miniseries is a Western that intertwines six different storylines.

The brothers' last theatrical release arrived with Hail, Caesar! As previously reported, they're also working on a film about the Internet's dark side titled Dark Web.
