Seth Rogen is once again starring in a kinda-sorta-maybe rom-com. The Apple TV+ comedy series Platonic was announced back in 2020, and now the details have finally been confirmed.
The 10-episode run, co-starring Rose Byrne, was written by Nicholas Stoller (Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Bros) and his wife Francesca Delbanco (Friends from College). Stoller previously directed Rogen and Byrne in 2014's Neighbors and 2016's Neighbors 2. The cast also includes Luke Macfarlane, Tre Hale, Carla Gallo and Andrew Lopez.
The first three episodes of Platonic will premiere on May 24. Some first-look images can be seen below.
An announcement describes the show like this: "Platonic follows a platonic pair of former best friends approaching midlife (Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne) who reconnect after a long rift. The duo's friendship becomes all consuming — and destabilizes their lives in a hilarious way."
The announcement also notes that Rogen and long-time collaborator Evan Goldberg also have another comedy series on the way for Apple TV+.
