Mount Eerie's Phil Elverum and actor Michelle Williams are now married. The pair secretly wed in Adirondacks, and now live together in Brooklyn with their two daughters.
The news was revealed via a new Vanity Fair cover story about Williams. In the article, she called their relationship "very sacred and special."
"Obviously I've never once in my life talked about a relationship," she continued, "but Phil isn't anyone else. And that's worth something. Ultimately the way he loves me is the way I want to live my life on the whole. I work to be free inside of the moment. I parent to let Matilda feel free to be herself, and I am finally loved by someone who makes me feel free."
Both Elverum and Williams have lost loved ones to tragedy in the past. Williams' partner Heath Ledger died of a drug overdose in 2008. Elverum's wife Geneviève Castrée died of pancreatic cancer in 2016. Her death was the subject of the Mount Eerie albums A Crow Looked at Me and Now Only.
Exclaim! wishes all the best to Elverum and Williams on their recent nuptials.
