Khloe Kardashian Defends Kim's Private Island Party on 'Ellen'

"I get it. I think there's so many frustrations going on for everybody. But also it's her 40th."

Khloe Kardashian has come to the defence of her sister Kim after the entire Kardashian clan came under fire for attending the reality star's 40-person 40th birthday party on a luxury private island.

While Kim has yet to address the valid critiques about her "conspicuous consumption" during one of the most unstable economic periods of our time, Khloe took to The Ellen DeGeneres Show to stand up for her family, describing the trip as "beautiful."

As far as the hate lodged against the family online is concerned, Khloe seems to think her sister's bougie birthday was worth it.

"I don't really know the extent of it, but this year is a frustrating year," she told DeGeneres. "I get it. I think there's so many frustrations going on for everybody. But also it's her 40th. This is something that she wanted to do for us. It was such a nice thing."

She attempted to defend the party by explaining that the resort staff needed the business due to lack of tourism during the ongoing pandemic.

"So many people said that we were their first party of guests that they've had in months and what it's done for them to be able to pay their bills or to be able to do stuff for their family," she explained. "Just hearing those messages when we were there, we felt really good and we felt so safe. We did it in the safest way I could imagine someone doing it."

Twitter is, once again, outraged at the family for missing the entire point of recent criticism lodged against them, with some pointing out the irony of appearing on DeGeneres' show to make her statement — after Ellen herself was just embroiled in her own controversy.
