Kim Kardashian Is Getting Dragged on Twitter for Her "Tone-Deaf" Private Island Birthday Party
"Conspicuous consumption isn't attractive when so many are suffering"

Twitter users are not impressed with the flagrant spending and the post's "tone-deaf" quality amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Some have retaliated by dragging her as hard as they can online, with some users boosting cries to "eat the rich" and for Kim to pay more in taxes.
"After 2 weeks of multiple health screens and asking everyone to quarantine, I surprised my closest inner circle with a trip to a private island where we could pretend things were normal just for a brief moment in time," Kardashian wrote in the thread.
"[Forty] and feeling so humbled and blessed," she wrote "There is not a single day that I take for granted, especially during these times when we are all reminded of the things that truly matter."
According to TMZ, the media figure flew 40 of her closest friends out to the tropical paradise. Her guests included much of the extended Kardashian clan, including Kris, Khloe, Kourtney, Kendal, Tristan Thompson, and Scott Disick, among others. Notably, Kanye West was not in attendance — or at least not during the photoshoot.

For my birthday this year, I couldn't think of a better way to spend it than with some of the people who have helped shaped me into the woman I am today. pic.twitter.com/sSZVCdbKH9

We danced, rode bikes, swam near whales, kayaked, watched a movie on the beach and so much more. I realize that for most people, this is something that is so far out of reach right now, so in moments like these, I am humbly reminded of how privileged my life is. #thisis40 pic.twitter.com/UYOcVBpytW

How arrogant and tone deaf. We have friends & relatives sick, dying, or unemployed. Many are struggling to feed their families every day.
