Ellen DeGeneres recently announced that her daytime talk show will be ending in spring 2022, claiming the show was "not a challenge anymore" (although the announcement came following accusations of a "toxic" work environment). Now, her replacement has been announced, as Kelly Clarkson will be taking over her place as the face of NBC daytime TV.

The Kelly Clarkson Show premiered in 2019. It's currently in its second season and already has 343 episodes, as of press time. It's not entirely clear what time slot The Kelly Clarkson Show will be occupying, but it will be the headline show of NBC's daytime TV programming.

Valari Staab, president of NBCUniversal Local, said in a statement, "We look forward to Ellen DeGeneres' 19th season paired with Kelly Clarkson for what is sure to be a blockbuster year. By 2022, The Kelly Clarkson Show will be the star of our daytime entertainment schedules and an asset to our early afternoon newscasts."

Tracie Wilson, executive vice-president of NBCUniversal Syndication Studios said, "Kelly and our entire production team put their heart, intent and incredible passion into making a show that resonates with people of all ages, cultures and backgrounds. We're working on some big plans for season three and are looking forward to becoming the premier show in daytime for years to come."

Clarkson is currently also a judge and coach on NBC's singing competition, The Voice.
