Thousands of Angry 'Game of Thrones' Fans Are Petitioning HBO to Reshoot Season 8

"This series deserves a final season that makes sense"

According to numerous fans, the final season of Game of Thrones is — spoiler alert — bad. Hell, even the cast appears to be poorly hiding their disappointment when talking to the press about the show. As with most pop cultural flubs like this, the end result is an angry mob of nerds assembling an online petition.

Dylan D. has done just that, starting a Change.org petition demanding that HBO "remake Game of Thrones Season 8 with competent writers."

In his writeup, Dylan says, "David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have proven themselves to be woefully incompetent writers when they have no source material (i.e. the books) to fall back on. This series deserves a final season that makes sense. Subvert my expectations and make it happen, HBO!"

While it's unlikely that HBO will remake an entire season of the most expensive TV show ever made, the petition is gaining steam with approximately 35,000 signatures as of press time.

UPDATE (5/16, 3:45 p.m. EDT): The petition has now ballooned to over 500,000 signatures and counting. Right now, the campaign is looking to go to 1 million — a number that very well could be reached soon.

Worse yet, we can expect more of these types of petitions to come. After all, Benioff and Weiss have been handed the keys to the next Star Wars trilogy.
