The filmmaking team behind this year's explosive Framing Britney Spears documentary have reassembled to release a follow-up doc, Controlling Britney Spears, set to premiere tonight on Hulu and FX.

The "must-see follow-up" promises "new insider revelations" and will reveal "a portrait of an intense surveillance apparatus that monitored every move the pop star made," according to the New York Times.

Directed by Samantha Stark and produced by Liz Day, the film is due to air at 10 p.m. ET this evening. The follow-up will reportedly contain exclusive interviews with members of Spears' "inner circle" and will present an intimate account of the pop star's life under the control of her 13-year conservatorship.

News of the Controlling doc follows Netflix's announcement concerning its own documentary, the Erin Lee Carr-directed Britney vs. Spears. That is due to arrive on the streamer on September 28.

Earlier this month, Britney's father Jamie Spears filed to end his daughter's conservatorship, following similar filings that Britney made herself in July. Earlier this week, Britney's lawyers filed documents in an effort to end the conservatorship as early as this fall.
