The Television Academy and Fox have announced the postponement of the 75th Emmy Awards due to the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes in Hollywood. The ceremony — previously scheduled to air on September 18 — will now take place on January 15.
It was reported last month that the awards were likely going to be postponed, with the New York Times hypothesizing that the ceremony could be pushed back to 2024 based on an insider report.
The Last of Us, The White Lotus, The Bear and Succession are all up for major awards, with the latter's Brian Cox, Kieran Culkin and Jeremy Strong up for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series and Sarah Snook earning a nod for Outstanding Lead Actress.
Assuming the strikes wrap up before next year, the Emmys will broadcast live on Fox from the Peacock Theater on January 15, while the Creative Arts Emmys will take place on January 6 and 7.
