The release of Denis Villeneuve's Dune has been messy, to say the least. And today it got even messier, with the hugely anticipated sci-fi flick getting yet another delay and another new release date.
Today Warner Bros. announced that Dune will now come out on October 22 rather than its most recent release date of October 1. The film will still get a day-and-date release on HBO Max for the first 31 days alongside the theatrical run in 3D and IMAX. Of course, Villeneuve isn't so keen on that whole thing.
As previously reported, Dune will first premiere at the Venice Film Festival and TIFF. however.
Warner is also shifting the release date for the Sopranos prequel The Many Saints of Newark, which will now arrive on October 1 instead of September 24. Also, Clint Eastwood's Cry Macho will now come out on September 17 instead of October 22.
The other big Warner release, the Bond flick No Time to Die, will luckily be sticking to its release date of October 1.
