Brendan Fraser has reportedly been cast alongside Leslie Grace in Warner Bros. and DC Films' upcoming Batgirl film. It's unconfirmed at the moment, but it's looking likely that Fraser will be playing the villain Firefly.
According to Deadline, the film is being helmed by Bad Boys for Life directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. There's no confirmed release date yet, though it's expected to arrive sometime in 2022.
And while no real plot details have been released, we do know that the project will follow Barbara Gordon — that's Commissioner Gordon's daughter — as the titular Batgirl.
Fraser has been having something of a renaissance — or Brenaissance — lately, and is lined up to appear in several major upcoming features, including Martin Scorsese's Killers of the Flower Moon and Darren Aronofsky's The Whale.
Let the Brenaissance continue.
